New research from Direct Line<\/a> has outlined what a sleep deprived nation in the UK is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A shocking 14% of Brits (7.5 million people) are surviving on dangerously low levels of sleep each night, getting less than five hours. A whopping 71% of UK adults aren’t getting the recommended 7-9 hours sleep each night either, which is crucial to having a productive day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s not just productivity you need to worry about though. Poor sleep is closely linked with serious health conditions including cardiac issues, dementia and diabetes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We spend roughly a third of our lives in bed, so it’s worth spending to get a top quality mattress. But what features do we need to look for? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your body type is also a big factor. The more you weigh, the deeper your body will sink into your mattress . If you weigh less than 130 pounds, you might prefer a softer mattress that will cushion your body, but if you weigh considerably more a firmer mattress will stop you sinking.<\/p>
