So far this year Wednesday has ushered in a little <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodhomesmagazine.com\/inspiration\/wednesday-whimsy-goth-ideas-for-your-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">whimsigoth<\/a>, The Traitors gave us a taste for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodhomesmagazine.com\/inspiration\/the-traitors-get-the-look-home-castle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">castlecore<\/a>, and Carrie\u2019s new apartment in And Just Like That encouraged us to adopt the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodhomesmagazine.com\/inspiration\/style-lessons-and-just-like-interiors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">quiet luxury look<\/a> in our own, considerably more humble, abodes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So it\u2019s really no surprise that one of <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/12\/stranger-things-5-premiere-viewership-netflix-1236633162\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Netflix\u2019s most popular shows<\/a> should have us wanting to introduce some old school retro into our interiors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the experts at Ruggable, Google searches for \u201c80s-inspired interior design\u201d spiked after the final series\u2019 release date dropped earlier this year, with \u201cmaximalist living rooms\u201d, \u201cneon signs\u201d and \u201cart deco geometric patterns\u201d topping the trends.<\/p><div class=\"goodh-content\" id=\"goodh-118864313\" style=\"margin-top: 20px;margin-bottom: 20px;\"><div class=\"goodh-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><!--noptimize--><figure class=\"wp-block-grvmedia-grv-video GRVVideoPrimis\">\r\n\t<div class=\"GRVVideo-wrapper\"><\/div>\r\n<\/figure><!--\/noptimize--><\/div>\n\n\n\n<affilizz-magic-match><\/affilizz-magic-match>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems that despite Hawkins being overrun with all manner of strange goings on, viewers are finding comfort in the show\u2019s cosy throwbacks: the Byers\u2019 wood-panelled, fairy-light-strewn living room; the Wheelers\u2019 chintzy wallpaper and flouncy valances; and the patterned carpets and poofy curtains that once defined our childhood homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe interiors in Stranger Things tap into such a strong sense of 80s nostalgia that resonates with so many of us,\u201d explains Chloe Barrow, interior expert at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.laura-james.co.uk\/collections\/living-room\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Laura James<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s comfort in revisiting that bold style of the 80s, especially in a time when self-expression in interiors is starting to trend over minimalism.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While we may have once sworn that shagpile would never darken our floors again, interiors experts insist there\u2019s now a modern and sophisticated way to bring a touch of Hawkins homeliness into our d\u00e9cor in 2025. <\/p><div class=\"goodh-content_2\" id=\"goodh-2428074326\"><div class=\"goodh-adlabel\">Advertisements<\/div><!--noptimize--><div class=\"GRVMpuWrapper mobile\"><div class=\"GRVAd inline mobile\" data-ad-type=\"primary-mpu\" data-ad-label=\"mpu\" data-ad-sizemapping=\"primary-mpu\" data-ad-sizes=\"[[300,250],[300,600],[320,480]]\" data-ad-refreshmapping=\"always\"><\/div><\/div><!--\/noptimize--><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.goodhomesmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Untitled-design-2025-01-29T151156.499.jpg\" alt=\"Vintage style child's bedroom by Mustard Made\" class=\"wp-image-3583 ufurnish-shoppable-image\" style=\"width:794px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">This bedroom would be right at home in Hawkins.
