But this is more than just a colour trend; it\u2019s a mood. Go for a half-drench instead. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a palette of tonal taupes, rustic browns and earthy tans can appear dark, painting a half wall is a great technique to prevent it from becoming too overwhelming,\u201d suggests Kathryn Lloyd, colour specialist at <a href=\"https:\/\/crownpaints.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Crown<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUsing a darker colour such as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crownpaints.com\/colour\/grape-escape\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Grape Escape<\/a>&nbsp;on the bottom half of the wall and a lighter shade like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crownpaints.com\/colour\/linen-blend\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Linen Blend<\/a>&nbsp;on the top half &#8211;
