It seems most of us Brits are ever-frustrated with the cleaning habits those we live with – sound familar?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’re certainly not alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ideal Home Show<\/a> has found that the UK’s most annoying household habits are avoiding chores to wait for someone else to do them (42%). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Closely followed by leaving hairs in the sink or shower floor (34%).<\/p>

This trend is most common amongst 18-24 year olds as half of them confessed to putting off cleaning the most. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same can’t be said for the older generation as only one in five of those aged 55 and above are putting off their chores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manchester and Liverpool residents topped the geographical list with 42% avoiding their cleaning, with Birmingham a close second at 40%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One in three Brits have cancelled plans because their home wasn’t clean enough. <\/p>

While 35% admit to delaying household cleaning tasks until things become too disgusting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pet peeves<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The research showed that women are more likely to get frustrated over lack of cleaning than men. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the most common peeves being leaving clothes or towels lying around, ignoring cobwebs and forgetting to hoover or mop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other frustrating habits include leaving shoes lying around in the hallway, crumbs in the bed and not wiping down counters after cooking. <\/p>

The bathroom appears to be home to many avoiding tactics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A whopping 25% of those surveyed said the toothpaste splatters in the sink is their number one pet peeve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plus, 23% mentioned leaving the toilet seat up, and 22% never replacing the loo roll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Giles Perry, Ideal Home Show Director said, \u201cIt\u2019s no surprise that cleaning and tidying habits are a hot topic in UK households, at 91%, nearly all of us are getting annoyed by an unclean habit by someone they live with. <\/p>
