The study found that 25% of couples would be annoyed if their other half sat in their spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The secret to domestic bliss? Ensure every seat is the ‘best’ in the house to avoid arguments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The key is a living room setup that accommodates multiple needs across all generations, from spots for kicking back to seats for resting, scrolling or watching TV – think modular sofas and moveable furniture (including lightweight side tables).<\/p> If the telly is still a priority for you (remote control squabbling aside), you might be one of the UK homeowners seeking to create the big screen experience at home with a cinema sofa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Searches for these specialist sofas are up by a whopping 78% since 2023 as we strive to create a sanctuary of entertainment in our own homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With individual recliners, heated seats, cup holders and other tech features, it’s no wonder these new additions have risen in popularity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Post-pandemic we’re taking more opportunities to entertain friends and family – with 50% of us entertaining once a month. <\/p> But, where once a gathering at home meant formal dining rooms or kitchen discos, we’re now hosting primarily in the living room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a reflection of the more relaxed approach we have to hosting, and the increase in living room\/dining spaces in homes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Drink trolleys and built-in bars are now more almost commonplace. It appears that cosy might be the word describe the future, with searches for ‘cosy living room’ and ‘cosy reading corner’ rising rapidly 85% higher than last year. <\/p> This can be reflected in bolder colour choices<\/a>, from soft pinks to forest greens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Or replacing the classic living room carpet with warm wood, terrazzo flooring and a large textured rug. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Curves in furniture are still firmly at the forefront for a relaxed and open atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
