There are so many considerations when designing a new kitchen, especially if you\u2019re working with limited space and are in need of small kitchen ideas. But, when it comes down to it, the main question to contemplate is how do you want your new space to feel?<\/p>\n

For Samantha Jones, it was important to her that the design of the kitchen was sympathetic to her property \u2013 an 18th<\/sup> century mill worker\u2019s cottage in Crickhowell, Abergavenny.<\/p>\n

Samantha began her kitchen journey by creating a mood board of country kitchen ideas. She curated proposals that also included a space for her German Shorthaired Pointer and ensured the U-shaped kitchen worked for her from a usability perspective.<\/p>\n

A bespoke, bijou feel<\/h3>\n

To incorporate Samantha\u2019s vision of a traditional kitchen, she decided upon the Hardwick range by Masterclass Kitchens<\/a>. It suited the open-plan cottage space perfectly, blending in seamlessly, and made sure her dream of having a dark kitchen<\/a> was realised.<\/p>\n

When it came to space and functionality, Samantha didn\u2019t think it was possible to forego wall units in her small kitchen. However, creative kitchen design allowed her to include clever storage solutions and wide drawer storage so she could eliminate all wall cabinets from her design. It allowed her to cut down on clutter without sacrificing the space she wanted.<\/p>

Beautiful Portland Oak cabinetry by Masterclass Kitchens meant that Samantha was able to create the bespoke kitchen look at a much more affordable price.<\/p>\n

Brilliant utility room ideas<\/h3>\n

Just off the main kitchen, Samantha has a small utility room<\/a> that really packs a powerful punch when it comes to maximising storage space. The design continues with the shaker kitchen<\/a> theme and includes tall cabinetry that incorporates a dog bed for her beloved German Shorthaired Pointer, along with a spectacular chef\u2019s pantry that houses all the store cupboard essentials. It\u2019s a perfect blend of space-saving ideas and real-life country living.<\/p>\n

Samantha’s new kitchen truly is the perfect fit for her charming cottage, and her styling of the space in keeping with the overall cosy feel. Since the installation of her new shaker kitchen, Samantha has spent much more time in her cosy, small kitchen<\/a> cooking from scratch, making the most of all her new prep space and AGA cooker.
